SEA-DOO 210 WAKE

SEA-DOO 180 CHALLENGER SE REVIEW

TEST: SEA-DOO 180 CHALLENGER SE

Slightly smaller than the 210 Wake is Sea-Doo's 180 Challenger SE, which sees a compact cockpit layout with wraparound seating complemented by loads of storage space, a sound system, and a comfortable driving setup with all the necessary electronics for simple operation.

At the stern, the boarding/swim platform is large and easily accessible. In the bow there's yet another spacious area, with more comfortable seating that can be converted into a mini bed or lounge.
Snap-in carpet comes as standard.
Although a relatively small craft, the 180 Challenger SE still manages to fit eight
on board comfortably.

SUPERCHARGED PERFORMER

Fitted with a single 255hp supercharged Rotax 4-TEC, the 180 still has enough "get up and go" to wrench you out of the water and attain top speeds of around 47kts (88kmh) at 7650rpm, which in my opinion is good going. Out of the hole it's not as perky as the 210's twin-engine installation, but it's still impressive.

Like larger Sea-Doo models it'll charge into full-lock turns at high speed without any complaints, remaining glued to the water and delivering a hell of a fun ride.

THE WRAP

If you can't afford the 210 Wake then the 180 Challenger SE is definitely the next best option. It has the modern lines and quality finish of Sea-Doo's top-of-the-range models, and would prove a handsome choice for watersports, cruising, or general family fun.
