15,000 anglers sign NSW marine park petition

The NSW Nationals have officially thanked NSW anglers for their support on a moratorium on marine parks.

Shadow Minister for Primary Industry Duncan Gay said he and NSW Nationals leader Andrew Stoner congratulated the Warringah Anglers Club on Thursday for its support. The club managed to gather more than 15,000 petition signatories calling for a moratorium on the creation of further marine parks in NSW.

“This amount of signatures is absolutely amazing and there are more to come,” said Gay. “I have been tabling the petitions in NSW Parliament to send a clear message to NSW Labor that fishermen will not be taken for granted,” he said.

Gay said the online campaign counted almost 3500 supporters and is still growing.

“Please remember this is a community campaign and we still need your help,” he added. “Please encourage your family and friends to log on to www.stopmarinelockout.com.au
and support our campaign.
