NEWS - Boating industry unites to build new national entity
Australia’s boating industry has confirmed its intention to develop a new single national entity to represent the interests of its members across Australia, according to the directors of the Australian Marine Industries Federation (AMIF).
At a meeting at the Sydney International Boat Show on July 30, AMIF directors said they were committed to the task of working as a united group on behalf of the Australian recreational boating industry.
Marine Queensland president, Barry Jenkins said this commitment was confirmed at a subsequent meeting of AMIF’s state association presidents, including NSW.
“All state presidents reiterated the intent to establish a national entity that would be truly representative of the industry and therefore have a more authoritative voice,” said Jenkins.
“In the interim, AMIF continues to represent members’ issues at a national and international level,” he said.
