Azimut out in Force at Cannes Boat Show
The Azimut Benetti Group was out in full force at recent international Cannes Boat Show, with no less than 20 models on display — including three brand new boats.
The Azimut 80, Azimut Magellano 53 and Azimut Atlantis 50 all made their debut at the prestigious boat show in southern France last weekend. The 24m Azimut 80 in particular was a highly anticipated addition to the manufacturer’s Flybridge Collection range. An Azimut media release described is as being “designed to embody a lifestyle where comfort and wellbeing merge with sophisticated and understated elegance.” Four different “stylistic proposals” are available: Portofino, Dolce Vita, Firenze, and Riviera.
The Azimut long-range collection also sees a new addition in the form of the Magellano 53. According to Azimut, it is the first vessel in the collection to offer three cabins, a utility room, and a crew cabin with separate bathroom; the design is said to be an ideal arrangement for long cruises.
Finally, the Azimut Atlantis 50 makes a two-fold debut: the Atlantis brand (already known among open cruiser enthusiasts) becomes a full member of the Azimut Yachts collection with the unveiling of this model. The Atlantis models join the Magellano, Flybridge, S, and Grande Collections, which Azimut says successfully completes the merging of Atlantis with Azimut Yachts. According to Azimut, the company now offers “the most extensive range of 34 to 120ft vessels both in terms of number of models and typologies”.
BENETTI FAST DISPLACEMENT HULL
The Tuscan boatyard introduce a third line of fast composite yachts at the Cannes Boat Show, known as the Fast Displacement range. According to Benetti, the new concept was created to “tap into a strong and as yet unexplored market in custom super yachts with a sporty spirit. These new vessels are said to be characterised by their versatility, speed (when required), but which are also comfortable in displacement mode and efficient at any speed.
The F-125 is the second in the Fast Displacement line next to the F-140. The range’s features were unveiled in a press conference at the Cannes Boat. It is a composite construction yacht built at the Viareggio boatyard; the hull is a 38m semi-wide body with three decks plus a sundeck.
