The Crownline 19 XS is a luxury bowrider suited for boaters who love outboards.

Crownline 19 XS Outboard at the Melbourne Boat Show

American manufacturer Crownline will exhibit its outboard-powered Crownline 19 XS bowrider at the Melbourne Boat Show this weekend. The boat is the result of intense development and collaboration between Crownline Australia, local dealers, and Crownline US head office, which ensured the 19 XS outboard was designed specifically to meet Aussie demand.

The 19 XS (Cross Sport) is a 19ft (5.79m) luxurious bowrider rated to carry eight people. It has a 2.34m beam, allowing it to be towed on local roads without the restrictions found on larger craft, and its BMT (boat motor trailer) weight comes in at 1890kg. The boat has been in development for some time and was re-designed from a traditional sterndrive configuration. This was deliberately done to complement the existing Crownline range of sterndrive models. The 19 XS is targeted at the local market segment that has grown familiar with outboard powered boats and has this as their preferred power choice.

The 19 XS layout takes an outboard up to 175hp and also incorporates subtler changes, like adjustments in weight distribution to ensure a thoroughly balanced ride, increased cockpit space, and better storage utility compared to the traditional bowrider design. Throughout its development there was substantial and unprecedented local Aussie input in everything from the design to the prototype testing and final development.

A favourite power option for the 19 XS is a new Mercury 150 FourStroke outboard, although the boat is rated up to 175hp. In Victoria, the Crownline 19 XS package is available from BL Marine with a locally-built Dunbier trailer and a generous selection of options for $55,090.
