NORTHSTAR RIBS ENTER AUSSIE MARKET

Sevaris Marine has entered the Australian marine market with what it says is its military-spec range of NorthStar RIBs (Rigid Inflatable Boats). The first RIBs arrived at their Australian location — the South of Perth Yacht Club — just before Christmas and, according to Sevaris’ principal Matt Sevior (right), the European-manufactured boats offer a genuine point of difference from the RIBs available in Australia.

“The hull design, materials and cutting-edge construction technology aside, NorthStar adheres to strict rating systems for compliance,” Sevior said.

“NorthStar RIBs over 6m meet or exceed CE Category B Offshore. The safety and stability requirements of this are much higher than Category C, which is the common rating of most other RIBs.

“The Category B rating is defined as ‘designed for offshore voyages where conditions up to and including wind force F8 and significant wave heights up to and including 4m may be experienced’. This rating, combined with an experienced team of naval architects, is why NorthStar has been called upon to design and produce hundreds of RIBs for coast guard and military organisations around the world.”

The eight-strong series of RIBs under the NorthStar brand includes the entry-level T Series tenders, to the fully-customisable OP Series, to the flagship RS Series ocean-going cabin boats.
