NEW SURTEES 8.5 GAME FISHER

Kiwi plate-alloy boatbuilder Surtees Boats has unveiled a new flagship, the 8.5 Game Fisher. Constructed using what Surtees says is the latest computer design technology, the model represents
“a big leap forward” in terms of size, design and performance, according to the company.

The 8.5 Game Fisher features Surtees’ Super Deep-Vee hull, ballast stabilising system and what is said to be an ultra-strong deck. The company says it’s one of the best-handling and smoothest craft available.

Surtees managing director Phil Sheaff said major effort has been invested in the design, with the model’s visual aesthetics receiving particular attention.

“Our aim was to excel visually — large opening rear doors, big windows, sleek design — without compromising the mechanical and engineering excellence that make Surtees boats the ones that fish fear the most and meet our clients’ needs the best,” he said.

“We’re thrilled. The 8.5 Game Fisher has been a while in the making and it is quite a big leap forward for the Surtees range and brand. “Out on the water, it’s proved to be everything we wanted it to be.
