Call to arms for Sydney boaties to help kids with cancer

Cruise for a Cure is on again this year, and is set to raise the spirits of cancer-suffering children and their families. It’s a one-day event which takes sick children and their families for a day aboard some of Sydney’s finest luxury cruisers, and organisers expect it to be even bigger and better this year.

The event is run by SBM Maritimo in conjunction with “Cure our Kids” foundation and the Children’s Hospital at Westmead. Organisers invite boat owners to register their support for the 2012 event in February, through SBM Maritimo. All sailing and power boats from 30ft upwards are invited to partake in the day, which will take kids from locations in Sydney Harbour, Pittwater and Port Hacking. The kids will decide what activities are on the cards — maybe a spot of fishing, or just cruising around Sydney’s beautiful waterways.

Visit www.sbmmaritimosydney.com.au if you’d like to register your boat for this very worthy cause, or if you’d like to offer sponsorship.
