Community forum to discuss new boating regulations in Albany
There will be a special community forum held next week in Albany in WA to discuss proposed changes to vessel speed limits, water skiing areas and use of personal water craft (PWC) in that area.
The proposals are part of a review of aquatic use in Albany by the Western Australian Department of Transport (DoT).
DoT's Marine Safety Operations Director Ray Buchholz said the forum on November 9, 2011 was a key part of the review and would provide important feedback on the proposals from local users.
"Officers will be on hand to outline the proposals and record comments which will be considered as part of the consultation process," Mr Buchholz said.
Mr Buchholz said it was envisaged the outcomes of the review would be implemented before the end of the year.
People wanting to register for the forum, to be held at Best Western Motel on the corner of Frederick and Spencer Streets starting at 6pm, can contact DoT’s Great Southern Regional Office on 9892 7312 before November 7, 2011.
