Darwin Boat Show on the grow

The Darwin Boat Show has expanded its horizons to become the Darwin Boat & Outdoor Show, the new-look boating and outdoor lifestyle extravaganza set to be held over September 3-4 at the Darwin Convention Centre.

In addition to all the boats and marine accessories, the broader focus will see the inclusion of camper trailers, 4WDs, camping gear and much more.

The chairman of the NT Boating Industry Association, Byron Hazell, said the greater scope was a natural extension of the event’s purely boating origins. “This approach is complementary to the boating lifestyle; we want to encourage more Territorians to explore the many options for simply getting the family outdoors,” he said. “It’s all about keeping happy and healthy and having good, clean fun, while building the life experiences kids simply can’t get sitting inside in front of a screen,” he added.

A packed schedule will offer something for the whole family — there will be special activities for the kids, a brand new family travel program aimed specifically at women, and instructional clinics to help you get more out of everything from fishing to GPS navigation, among others.
