Telwater releases Vortex outboards
Queensland boatbuilding giant Telwater has today officially released Vortex, a range of Chinese-made outboards that the company says will be distributed through its dealer network as part of boat, motor, trailer (BMT) packages.
Telwater — the brand behind multiple brands including Quintrex, Stacer, Savage, Savage Fibreglass, Yellowfin and Archer as well as Desert Edge Campertrailers — said the Vortex range currently counts over 20 models. They include two-strokes from 2.5 to 40hp and four-strokes from 15 to 25hp.
General manager, Tim Atkins, said the brand was released to “pass on savings” to customers.
“Vortex engines are extremely price competitive, on average around 25 per cent less than a comparable outboard,” said Atkins.
The company said the public can expect to see new engines in dealerships in a few weeks. The engines come with a three-year warranty, and according to Telwater, each engine is tested and run for two hours prior to leaving the factory.
TrailerBoat asked Telwater if there were any plans to release these engines as individual product, to which we received the following response: “Vortex engines will be sold as part of a BMT package with Telwater products.”
Atkins says that Telwater is looking forward to an exciting future with Vortex and expanding the product range.
