Sea Jay Boats releases 6.2 Pursuit
Queensland boatbuilder Sea Jay Boats has released its 6.2 Pursuit plate-boat under its Xtreme range.
The 6.2 has a deep-vee hull with a 19.5° deadrise, a design that Sea Jay says makes it perform like a much larger vessel. The build stems from what Sea Jay calls “the latest in 3D modelling”, a process said to permit “the flexibility to redesign instantly to a customer’s request.”
The bottoms, transom, longitudinal stringers and keel are made from 5mm 5083 plate-alloy and are tied together to 4mm cross bulkheads. In addition, a fully-welded selfdraining floor creates a structural strength which Sea Jay claims is “far superior than any pressed boat on the market”. Underfloor air chambers and buoyancy foam further improve safety.
The 6.2, like its larger variant, the 6.8 Pursuit, comes with an extensive list of standard items, including: dive door, overhead radio console, alloy rocket launcher (with eight rodholders), alloy hardtop, fully-plumbed livebait tank, alloy baitboard (with four rodholders), hydraulic steering, and much more. An extensive list of options is also available, including the choice of twin-engines.
Its standard 300lt fuel tank is housed in a separate fuel cell.
