Peel facilities adequate for five years?

The boating facilities in the Peel region of WA, including Mandurah and its surrounds, are the subject of a recent study by the WA Government’s Department of Transport.

The report, titled Peel Regional Recreational Boating Facilities Study

, targets the Peel region as undergoing a period of high growth in recreational boating, but found that existing facilities would meet demand for the next five years.

According to the Department of Transport’s coastal assets manager, Martin Baird, the study also identified strategies to further expand facilities in line with projected future growth, and would serve as a blueprint “moving forward”.

“The recommendations include potential sites for new infrastructure to further increase capacity and meet the needs of the boating population in the area,” he said.
