Horses welcome boats

Horses welcome boats

Eh? Sorry. We’ll be more specific. Famous Sydney horse racing venue Rosehill Gardens will host the eighth Rosehill Trailer Boat Show over March 5-6. There will be no horses but ample horsepower. Corny we know, but there you are.

The show is an initiative of the Boating Industry Association of NSW and is said to attract many of Sydney’s premier boat and associated product manufacturers and dealers.

What was once modestly called The Great Silverwater Boat Show has become very popular with boaties in its new guise, and this year is expected to attract many for whom boats and boating in their many forms are a pleasure not to be taken lightly.

“More than 11,000 came to the show last year,” said Dominic Genua, BIA marketing and event manager.

“All of our exhibitors this year are keen to do business and clear stock in readiness for the 2011/2012 summer season.

“We’ve deliberately produced the show as a totally informal, rather laid back affair and I think visitors have come to appreciate that,” he said.

Marine Rescue will also be on hand, using the show as a fundraising opportunity, provided with the compliments of the BIA.
