Sea-Doo dives in to help
Surf lifesaving organisations are receiving Sea-Doo PWCs and E-TEC engines to assist at some of Australia’s most notorious coastal blackspots.
These locations are said to have a reputation for repeatedly dragging swimmers into trouble, but BRP is confident that aiming advanced rescue craft at this problem will help lower the number of incidents.
Four of the most notorious NSW blackspots are in Shoal Haven, Port Macquarie, Whale Beach and Coffs Harbour; one is in Victoria at Bass Coast/Phillip Island; and another is at Goolwa/Middleton in South Australia.
Surf lifesaving volunteers are said to be using Sea-Doo’s GTI 130 at these locations, with the exception of Whale Beach, where an inflatable RIB with a 25hp E-TEC is the preferred option.
