They say there’s considerable “flow-on” in the process by which products designed for the military or for NASA eventually filter down to civilian markets. That certainly seems to be the case with recent recognition given to Mercury for its 15 years of ISO 9001 accreditation.
Mercury achieved ISO 9001 certification originally to open up sales opportunities within the Australian Military Forces, but the disciplines mastered since then have benefited Mercury customers all over Australia.
Mercury’s quality assurance manager, Ron Bell, said that 15 years of continuous certification is quite an achievement “and we’re justifiably proud of it”. Bell said it takes constant work throughout the organisation to maintain the high standards required by ISO 9001.
