Chaparral Boats says its new range of sportsboats has had an outstanding response at the Sydney and Perth Boat shows in August — with no less than 27 test drives said to have been booked from the Sydne

Chaparral Boats dealer for NSW, Troy Higginbotham from National Marine Services, said he was delighted with the results after he sold all his stock and took orders for eight more boats.

“The two standout boats for us were the big harbor cruising bowrider 244 Sunesta offering an inbuilt toilet, massive standard options list and lovely soft ride in all conditions; the other big mover was the 196 SSi which, under a lot of competition from the other brands, showed many buyers that you can have a quality, highly optioned, small boat that is designed for saltwater use and still be competitive at entry level pricing.”

Perth Chaparral dealer, Offshore Marine, is said to have had a similar experience. “We have always had a good following for the Chaparral brand in WA,” said Geoff Ellis, principal at Offshore Marine. “What was interesting here is the mix of cruiser and bowrider sales, the 270 Cruiser was a stand out for us and the 196SSi — what a brilliant boat!”
