Sail Outboards Power Down Under

Sydney-based distributor Aquabay Marine has announced it will be launching a new range of Chinese-made outboards at this year’s Sydney International Boat Show.

Sail outboards are manufactured by the Suzhou Powermax Power Co Ltd — an ISO 9001:2000-certified company that exports over 700,000 units to over 50 different countries each year. The company boasts over 20,000m² of production floor space across two manufacturing sites, along with 1200 production staff, 20 R&D staff and 100 office staff, and it says it builds its engines using up-to-date machinery sourced from Japan and the USA.

At this stage the local Sail Outboards lineup comprises engines ranging in size from 2.5hp to 40hp, in either two or four-stroke, although larger and more powerful engines are currently being developed. Aquabay Marine says this is the first time these engines have been made available in Australia through an authorised dealer network, with the added peace of mind of a two-year limited warranty, plus spare parts backup.
