Brissy Boat Show Cracks The Half-Century

This year the Brisbane Boat Show will be celebrating its 50th anniversary, and with over 120 exhibitors at last year’s event, plus products totaling millions of dollars, this year’s event will be a far cry from the 11 exhibitors who initially fronted up to Brisbane’s City Hall way back in 1961.

As much as it will be an expo of the latest and greatest in marine hardware, this year’s show — due to be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre over August 26 to 29 — will also have one eye fixed firmly on the event’s proud past.

“This year is all about combining a showcase of the latest boats and marine accessories with a celebration of just how far the show has come,” says Marine Queensland events manager, Jason Plant. “We are going to have a great historical display with information and stories demonstrating just how far the Queensland marine industry has come over the past five decades,” he adds.
