New Cruise Craft 530 Explorer

New Cruise Craft 530 Explorer

Following hot on the heels of the launch of the Explorer 485, Cruise Craft has also ripped the covers off its new 530 model, a boat that the company describes as a new design “from the keel all the way to the tip of the rocket launchers”.

“We felt there was an opportunity to offer a high quality, medium-sized family boat that comes with a great-value-for-money price ticket,” said Cruise Craft sales and marketing manager, Peter Benston.

“This is the ideal boat which can be towed by the average family vehicle that will suit first time fishing families and those moving up from an aluminium boat. Above all, it proudly carries the Cruise Craft name so customers are assured of superior quality and performance.”

Measuring 5.30m long (5.76m including bowsprit) the Explorer 530 features a cuddy cab with vee-bunks, storage underneath, and parcel, shelf plus an expansive cockpit. It also has a recessed toerail around the cabin sides like the Explorer 685, providing safe access to the bow.

Inside the boat, there’s plush upholstery, including padded coamings, a walkthrough transom door, and a generous deck hatch that provides excellent access to the bowsprit and anchor. At the helm there is a heap of space for instrumentation, marine radios and large electronics units.

“Along with our Explorer 485, we feel that this boat will introduce many families to the Cruise Craft brand,” said Benston.

“With the introduction of the 485 and the 530, it now means we have a family fishing boat to suit the needs of all fishing enthusiasts.”

“The Explorer 530 rounds out the Explorer range very neatly. We are confident that once boaters experience one of our new Cruise Craft Explorers, they will go on and further their boating with the bigger Cruise Craft models.”

The Explorer 530 targets entry level customers, but according to Cruise Craft there are no corners cut when it comes to design or construction. The hull is foam filled for strength, buoyancy and quietness, and like all models in the Cruise Craft range, the Explorer 530 is backed by a seven-year structural hull guarantee.

The boat is rated to carry five adults with the maximum power on the transom limited to 140hp, with either two-stroke or four-stroke configuration. The recommended power is 115hp. The Explorer 530 carries a kerbside weight of (approx.) 1600 kg.

A rigged boat/motor/trailer package begins around the mid $50,000 mark depending on engine and options.
