Haines Hunter targets Melbourne show

HAINES HUNTER TARGETS MELBOURNE SHOW

Haines Hunter has its sights fixed firmly on this year’s Melbourne Boat Show (Melbourne Exhibition Centre, July 1-5), which will see several new Haines models make their Australian debut.

The new SeaWasp is an adaptation of the popular model produced by Haines Hunter up until the mid-’80s, and Haines says it’s set to rival current pressed-aluminium boat offerings in terms of both price and versatility. The 2010 SeaWasp will be released in a 3.95m format, but 4.45m and 5.00m models are set to follow.

Also debuting at Melbourne will be Haines Hunter’s 560 Classsic. A step up from the ProFish series, the 560 Classic blends the best of a comfortable family boat with the practicality and rugged design of a top fishing-fighting platform. Rated for a 150hp four-stroke, Haines Hunter says the 560 Classic can be towed behind a family sedan with ease.

Finally, the Melbourne Boat Show will also see the curtain go up on Haines’ new Limited Series, encompassing 585R, 600R and 650R models. The Limited Series will showcase Haines Hunter’s new Structural Safety Matrix (SSM) construction technique, which will then be slowly phased in over the entire Haines range in coming months.

The Limited Series is said to come packed with top features, such as boosted horsepower ratings (up to 300hp on the 650R!), an extended gelcoat colour range, limited edition graphics, a Rockford Fosgate touch-screen stereo, SeaDek flooring and specially numbered hulls, each with a certificate of authenticity.
