MERCURY TAKES SMOC CROWN AT MILDURA 100

The Mercury Pro XS Racing

team has sliced 29 seconds off the SMOC (Standard Motor Open Cockpit) class race record at the Mildura 100 over the Easter Weekend.

Powered by an OptiMax 250 Pro XS outboard, Mercury Pro XS Racing crossed the line in 41 minutes and 55 seconds. Peter Lewis was behind the wheel, with David Stoneley observing, and Steven Young and Adam Bail on the skis.

Mercury also had a great weekend in the F2 Expert category, taking all three spots on the podium. Tuff E Nuff, propelled by a Mercury 300XS, took 70 seconds off the old mark to finish its two legs in 42 minutes and 35 seconds. Thundernuts was just four seconds behind in second place, followed 15 seconds later by Air Force 1 in third.
