MALIBU SKIER TAKES OUT U17 AWARD
Malibu team skier Samantha Mead was last week crowned Australian under-17 girls overall champion at an awards ceremony in Perth, following five gruelling days of competition.
Mead took out the title by 118 points and was also selected as a reserve skier for the junior world titles in Italy later this year.
“With the pressure of family and state expectation Sam showed true fighting spirit,” said Lou Sloot from Malibu Boats WA. “With the pressure off and selection in the team now secure, Sam can get on the job and get back to the skiing and scores previously achieved to elevate her from reserve to team skier.”
