ARVOR LAUNCHES 215 MODEL
Arvor said it is offering its customers more choice with the release of its new 215 model, designed in Europe and said to be capable of handling the arduous conditions in the North Sea.
The 215 has a full walkaround layout, similar to the Arvor 20. Its hull measures 21ft6in (6.36m), and it is powered by a 115hp “common rail” Cummins CMD diesel. Top speed is more than 20kts, and according to Arvor, the efficiency of the direct-shaft drive helps keep maintenance costs under control.
Arvor said the 215 has “a wealth of smart features”, including hydraulic steering; emergency tiller steering that allows the boat to be driven at low speed; and a SmartCraft digital read-out system that displays key information including fuel consumption, oil pressure, temperature and more.
Standard equipment includes an electric windlass with an anchor-locker and mooring cleats, all fitted at the factory. Its lockable wheel house comes equipped with a large double-berth, and there are stainless steel handrails, an interior light, VHF radio, compass, and an AM/FM CD player. Selfdraining decks improve safety while fishing offshore, or when the boat is moored, while a livebait tank with an electric pump can be found in the stern, as can a cutting board, swim platform with a stainless steel ladder, and an outboard bracket.
Arvor will be displaying its boats at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, running from May 20-23, 2010. Visit www.arvor.com.au for more information.
