TEAM CRUISE CRAFT PASSES THE 500 MARK
More than 500 boats are now part of Team Cruise Craft, a two-year old alliance of Cruise Craft owners around Australia supported by the marque’s Queensland manufacturer.
Team Cruise Craft promotes education and camaraderie between Cruise Craft owners, as well as opportunities for participation in social events and fishing competitions.
The latest addition, which pushed the membership past the 500 mark, is an immaculate, pre-loved Cruise Craft Resort 6 belonging to Ron Reid, a wholesaler, retailer and specialist tools repairer from Queensland.
“I grew up on Brisbane’s bayside at Wynnum, and for as long as I can remember, I watched Cruise Crafts being launched at the local ramp,” said Reid. “I still see some of those very same boats which I saw as a kid, being launched today — that in itself makes a serious comment about the quality of Cruise Craft boats.
“I looked at a number of quality brands and models before zeroing in on the Resort 6. But before committing to buying it in a private sale, our family attended a Team Cruise Craft family day with some friends, who also have Cruise Crafts.
“That did it for us — more than 50 Cruise Crafts and 200 people all along the beach having a great time; the factory supporting it, great fun events for adults and kids, and it didn’t matter whether you had an older model or a brand new one. The kids had a ball that day.”
Reid said he felt the Resort 6 was a very versatile boat that could handle Moreton Bay’s temperamental conditions
This year Team Cruise Craft participants will gather at various social functions and boat shows around Australia. The team will also participate in several fishing competitions including the Boyne-Tannum Hook-up near Gladstone, the Moreton Bay Fishing Classic in Brisbane, and the Club Marine Trailer Boat Fishing Tournament at Port Stephens.
There are no less than 44 models in Team Cruise Craft. They date back to a showroom-condition Cruise Craft Rogue from the ‘70s owned by Dennis Warring-Jones, to the company’s latest range of cruisers, walk-arounds, walk-throughs, cuddy cabins and bowriders.
Team Cruise Craft has its own web site at www.teamCruiseCraft.com.au. It includes sections on how to become involved, forthcoming events, owners and their tips, photo galleries, news from the factory, equipment, and other helpful information.
