2010 Malibu Wakesetter VLX win US award

2010 MALIBU WAKESETTER VLX WINS US AWARD

Malibu Boats will receive its second consecutive Excellence in Design Award from US-based Trailer Boats Magazine

, this time for its 2010 Malibu Wakesetter VLX.

The boat was selected as the winner in the “Wakeboard Boat” category following a detailed evaluation process completed by the industry’s top boat design engineers.

All told, Malibu has received 28 product excellence awards, and 19 boat of the year awards.

“It is our pleasure to announce that the Malibu Wakesetter VLX is the Trailer Boats Excellence in Design Wakeboard Boat Award Winner for 2010,” said Jim Hendricks, publisher and editorial director of Trailer Boats Magazine.

“We would like to thank Malibu Boats for pushing the limits of boat design. It is this kind of forward thinking that the Trailer Boats Excellence in Design Awards program is intended to recognize and encourage. Malibu’s achievement is exemplary,” he said.

Paul Singer, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Malibu Boats, explained the phenomenon.

“These awards are a great pat on the back for us, but as soon as the high fives are spent, we get right back at it. There are so many more innovations that our engineers are working to perfect. They are competitive by nature and these awards just push them to develop that next industry first,” he said.

The 2010 Wakesetter VLX is packed with features, including a MaliView Dash System with 6.5 LCD and video capability, as well as a patented wake-making Power Wedge and customizable rider presets to accommodate different styles and levels.

The new Illusion G3 Tower, which is designed with a gas spring assist system for easy one-person fold-down in seconds, is standard.

Malibu said its SV23 Wake Hull design played an important part in securing the award, by creating big pro-level wakes while optimizing ride and handling.

The overall look, interior design, ample storage, and general level of comfort were also important factors.
