Fleet Marine takes on Yamaha

Fleet Marine Electrics expands

NSW’s Fleet Marine Electrics has established a retail premises at d’Albora Marinas, on the The Spit, in Mosman, after 15 years of operating a marine electrical and mechanical servicing business. And to make the new business even more appealing, says Fleet Marine, it has been appointed a fully authorised Yamaha outboards dealer.

Anthony Daube, Fleet Marine director, says he is confident about the new direction his business is taking, which operates from three separate locations on the waterfront in Sydney.

“When we decided to expand at The Spit from a workshop operation to also have a retail shop, we approached Yamaha with a view to sell and service their outboards,” said Daube.

“We felt that we could do a great job for existing and prospective Yamaha customers in this area which was in need of a Yamaha dealer,” he said.

Fleet Marine said it is well positioned to engage and support the larger powerboat market from its new location. The area is said to have a massive number of open powerboats in the 6m to 10m category that are candidates for re-powering, in the short to medium term; as well as more boats in the bigger range that use inflatable tenders.

“What may not be as obvious to many people is the big number of commercial operators on the water in the Middle Harbour area,” said Daube.

“We already service many of these customers through our marine electrical business; now we can also assist them with Yamaha re-powers

“We have slipping facilities right alongside our workshop so we are able to do major engine repowers on the slip, while other work such as anti fouling and so on can be done at the same time.”

Daube says he is no stranger to the Yamaha brand, having run Yamaha two-stroke and four-stroke outboards on his company work boats.

“Over the years I have used other brands, but nothing comes close to Yamaha for durability and reliability, not to mention fuel economy.”

The new Fleet Marine retail showroom at The Spit has on display a representative range of Yamaha outboard engines, as well as inflatable boats and marine electronics.

Yamaha outboards are available through an Australia-wide network of dealers. All Yamaha four-stroke outboards are supported with a full four-year manufacturer’s warranty and all two-stroke outboards are backed by a three-year warranty (standard conditions apply).
