Navico wins again
Navico said its technological expertise was recognised during the recent 2009 National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) convention in the US, with its BR24 Broadband Radar and Simrad AP24 and AP28 autopilot technology receiving awards.
BR24 Broadband Radar is the world’s first recreational marine Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar, and according to Navico, it represents the next generation of radar safety, affordability and ease of use. The technology combines straightforward installation, flexible antenna placement options, a 24nm range and low power draw.
The NMEA award is the latest addition to a growing list of accolades bestowed on the BR24, including the 2009 National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) Innovation Award, and the 2009 EDN Innovation Award for “best application of RF design” among others.
Awarded top honors in the autopilot product category, Navico said the Simrad AP24 and AP28 systems feature enhanced auto-steering and seamless integration with all electronics, including plug-and-play compatibility with the Volvo engine system, as well as advanced SimNet (NMEA 2000) networking.
