Streaker Boats wins again

The Boating Industry Association of Victoria (BIA) has again awarded Leon and Paul Savage’s Streaker Boats with the Retailer of the Year award at the annual Victorian Marine Industry Awards.

This the second consecutive year that the Melbourne based company has won the award. In addition, Streaker was also awarded the top award for Marine Manufacturer of Vessels.

The award was held at the IC Frith Marine Industry Awards breakfast during the BIA Melbourne Boat Show. It was presented by the Hon Gavan Jennings, Minister for Environment and Climate Change and Minister for Innovation.

“We are delighted to have been presented with the double awards in 2009,” said Streaker Boats’ Co-Director Leon Savage. “Our organisation is one of a very rare breed in that we have a manufacturing aspect and a retail arm. To have both of our business entities bestowed with an excellence award from the BIA in the same year is just amazing.”

Over the past twelve months, Streaker said it has been actively developing and releasing new boats.

“We decided that we needed to give the boating customer a reason to buy a new boat,” said Savage. “At Streaker we listen intently to our customers and develop the boats that they tell us they want. Our new hardtop has been a revelation, as has our new range of Streaker walk thru models. And when we have new models ready for the market, we invite our customers to the showroom for a model launch with the objective on earning their respect and ultimately their business.”

Streaker Boats is an authorised Quintrex, Streaker, and Larson dealer, and is one of the few Australian Yamaha platinum grade dealers (Yamaha outboards and WaveRunners).
