A secondhand superyacht on sale for a steal!

Horizon E73: Preloved

Preloved: Used Horizon E73 For Sale

In a rapidly developing market it's important to recognise a shipyard like Taiwan’s Horizon Yachts – which has been honoured as Best Asian Motor Yacht Builder for the last 10 years in a row at the Asia Boating Awards. Since its inception in 1987, Horizon has developed as the leading Asian brand in the luxury megayacht market – riding out a number of worldwide economic fluctuations.

This Horizon E73 Barbarelle is currently offered as a pre-loved package by Horizon Yachts Australia. She is a luxury motor yacht, a showboat and a stylish multilevel entertainer with legitimate superyacht credentials to take you far and wide in supreme luxury and safety.

The 2011 build comes with that same stamp of excellence that sets the Taiwanse manufacturer apart.  Horizon Australia says, “The E73 offers exceptional flexibility in design and comfort - a generous beam ensures a spacious layout and offers three-stateroom and two-head forward accommodation, plus crew or guest space aft. An enormous swim platform and covered aft deck guarantee limitless fun in the sun. The E73 is the perfect choice for comfortable coastal cruising or exploring exotic offshore destinations. Fitted with options including upgraded CAT C32 engines, bow and stern thrusters, larger fuel tanks, zero speed stabilisers, Yacht Controller, under water lights, Bonning monitoring system, ultra-anchor and more. This well maintained vessel has only 680 hours and would suit the most fastidious buyer.”

The Cat C32s are the engine of choice. Barbarelle should return a pleasing Wide Open Throttle of around 28 knots, with a fast cruise of around 22. I have seen it at sea and believe me, it's a true performer both in the briny and as an entertainer. The vessel is also very easy to manoeuvre at slow speed into a tight spaces with bow and stern thrusters and remote Yacht Controller. A 6,814 litre fuel capacity gives a long range for extended adventures.

The open fly bridge is the standard design, however Barbarelle was optioned to include the fully enclosed Sky Lounge, adding another dimension of cruising comfort to this tidy package. The skipper will never be uncomfortable or lonely with the added attraction of climate control plus a lovely U-shaped dinette and kitchenette enclosed in the Skylounge.

The helmsman is treated to a magnificent array on the dashboard with three Raymarine E140 Hybrid multi-function screens, DSM 3000, 4-foot Open array 12kw scanner radar, bow and stern thrusters, Maxwell anchor-winch remote, Tokai search light, ABT Zero speed stabilisers, Bonning tank monitoring system, twin Cat digital monitoring, FLIR night vision and a pair of exceptionally comfortable STIGG helmsman’s chairs. The blue leather upholstery is quite unusual and rather striking, especially when aligned with marble bench tops and a combination of gloss and matte timber finishes – including polished teak flooring. The teak continues on the extended upper deck where you also find a complete barbeque unit plus a davit for a tender or water toy.

Back downstairs the superb rear deck comes complete with a teak dinette, rear lounge and a wine chiller; a semi-spiral staircase upwards to port and the wide, central sliding tinted door lead into the saloon. As you enter you will be treated to a visual celebration of modern splendour. The deep gloss timber cabinets are offset by thickly upholstered white leather lounges with magnificent ceiling features. Mood lighting, premium window coverings and plush bone carpets, a large pop-up television and Bose sound system are nothing short of luxurious.

Further forward, there's a central starboard galley and stairwell to port. There’s a huge three door fridge/freezer, icemaker, dual sink with mixer, Miele hot plate, microwave and convection oven – all set in a U-shaped array of gloss timber cabinetry.

Up front is a formal dining area complete with luxurious white leather upholstered seating for up to eight people, situated under three forward windows and a feature light fitting.

Barbarelle has a pantograph door to port and starboard leading to the walk around side deck and the stairwell to the lower accommodation is to the port.

The downstairs accommodation contains three staterooms, two with en suites, plus the crew quarters aft with their own facilities. The centrally located full beam master stateroom has a queen bed running north/south, an en suite behind the bed head bulkhead and a walk in robe.

The joinery, upholstery, lighting and fixtures are simply superb. Up front is a VIP stateroom with island queen bed, plus guest quarters with twin singles. All staterooms repeat the dark gloss timber finishes and premium trim. Even the crew are well catered for with their own little apartment in the aft. All the cabins have natural ventilation through side opening ports, individual air-con, entertainment systems running on two Onan 22.5kw generators. A thorough reading of the complete inventory is a must!

Barbarelle's owner has traded to a larger package, so it's available for delivery just in time for the summer boating season. There's a host of options and features in this beautiful Horizon E73 and with a replacement price for the latter model E75 at around $5.8m, the now-reduced and ready to go sale price of $2,750,000 seems exceptionally good value.
