Arcadia's imposing new A105

Arcadia A105 Spotlight

Characterised by imposing lines and an environmentally-integrated outlook on yachting, the A105 seeks to extend Arcadia Yachts’ self-proclaimed tag as a modern shipyard. Large and versatile social spaces, a convertible skylounge and stylistic choices to bring the outdoors in distinguish the 31.5-metre superyacht.

Initially announced and presented a year ago, the anticipation surrounding its festival release (11-16 September) was supported by the fact that a third hull is already being built at the company’s shipyard in Naples.

The A105 has been purposefully designed to regulate and minimise its environmental impact: large apertures reduce the need for air-conditioning, solar panels are integrated into the superstructure and highly-efficient thermal-insulating glass is used extensively throughout. Arcadia’s desire to invite the outdoors in is present in design elements such as floating steps and low-kept furnishings, which offer better views to the outside and visually open up the yacht’s interior.

The standout trend of the A105 is its large and convivial living and entertaining areas. The aft deck can comfortably seat 10 people for a formal dinner, while the lounge area has space for another 12 guests.

The upper deck also features generous places to entertain and relax in the form of a 30-square-metre skylounge that opens aft towards a 35-square-metre sun lounge. This versatile arrangement creates another area with direct sea contact but also shelters the entire aft deck.

The A105’s versatility is present in the design stage as well. Arcadia has designed over 50 interior layout options that play with the company’s “inside-outdoor ethic” in a bid to find the ideal arrangement for each owner.

Regardless of layout, black and white is used in unusual woods and combined with gloss-lacquered inserts in both the communal areas and the cabins, creating a unique style and contrasting interplay that’s used to guide guests aboard the A105. The cabin deck features eight guest beds and five crew beds.
