Senior boat tester John Willis headed to the beautiful Gold Coast to test the new Riviera 515 SUV luxury motoryacht.
ENGINE ROOM
John believes that Riviera sets the world standard for engine room setups and the Riviera 515 SUV is certainly no different. High quality wiring and plumbing is found throughout, and the engine room is very serviceable. Its twin 800hp Volvo Penta IPS drives leave no shortage of power.
CABIN AND ACCOMMODATION
Like many saloon type vessels, the Riviera 515 SUV offers a great sociable layout with a nice “flow through” feel from the beautiful helm to the rear deck. This is helped by the twin electric skylights, large window space and ingenious lounge section. The folding table makes the ottoman a full lounge. Below deck are three spacious staterooms and two bathrooms with flexible layout.
REAR DECK
“This is where the fun begins,” says John. There’s a great big rear deck with rear facing lounge, barbeque, grillers, icebox and twin walkthroughs onto a huge swim platform. It’s perfect for fishing and entertaining with family and friends.
THE VERDICT
The Riviera 515 SUV is a great boat for those coming up from sport cruisers or down from flybridge cruisers. It offers a lot of space for its size and is perfect for those family days out on the large rear deck. “This is my kind of boat, I love it,” concludes John.
