B&G's new Vulcan sailing chartplotter will have a starting price of around $1299.

New Electronics: B&G Vulcan Sailing Chartplotter

Marine electronics manufacturer B&G has announced the introduction of its new B&G Vulcan chartplotter. The charter plotter is packed full of B&G sailing features and has an easy to use 7-inch multi-touch display. It is intended to operate in cruising and racing yachts of all sizes.

SAILING CHARTPLOTTER

The expandable Vulcan sailing chartplotter is equally at home as a standalone chartplotter on a 24ft cruising yacht, or as part of an integrated system on a larger yacht.

In its basic form as a standalone sailing chartplotter, says B&G, Vulcan provides all standard sailing navigation features sailors expected from B&G. They include waypoints, routes, a choice of cartography providers, integrated autopilot control and more. All data is shown relative to the boat.

Sailors have the option of adding a Wind transducer to make use of B&G SailSteer. When integrated with further sensors, sailors can also unlock a host of other sailing features including True Wind and Tide. These integrated Vulcan electronics features are fully scalable and sailors can choose to take advantage of as many or as few sailing navigation features as they require.

SECONDARY DISPLAY

Large sail boats can also use B&G Vulcan marine electronics as a secondary display. It to be used in different locations, including as a cockpit repeater, as support at a chart table, as a source of navigational information in the owner’s cabin, or even as a mast display. Vulcan can also be added to existing NMEA 2000 networks.

When paired with a DownScan sonar transducer, Vulcan offers sailors a unique perspective on what’s beneath the boat, due to Cruise Sonar. This technology can help identify anchoring, swimming and fishing spots.

PRICE

The B&G Vulcan 7-inch sailing chartplotter will be available this year. The recommended retail price is $1299 AUD/$1499 NZD.
