Each fishfinder model includes an all-in-one transducer for 77/200kHz Garmin HD-IDsonar and what Garmin calls DownVü scanning sonar.

In a media release, Garmin also emphasised what it calls Smooth Scaling capability. This is said to provide smooth transitions from shallow to deep water and back again. The new fishfinders includes Sonar Rewind, allowing the user to scroll back into sonar history.
