The Jellybean sailing dinghy is designed and built specifically for children. At 2.7m long it can accommodate a chaperoning adult comfortably before the ideal age group of 8 to 12-year-olds can sail off on their own.
A versatile performer, the Jellybean can also be rowed or towed and doubles as a fun multipurpose tender for the big family boat.
Geelong manufacturer, the JB Boat Company says the Jellybean is handlaid from fibreglass, making it strong and light and easy to roof-top on the car or haul up
on the foredeck for storage.
The Jellybean, which gets its name from the variety of colours it comes in — yellow, orange, red, blue, pink, green and white — can sail in 1m of water and has two sail plans, with a slightly smaller sail for beginners. The multi-panelled sail istelf makes the boat easy for parents to keep an eye on at all times.
“The Jellybean sailing dinghy comes with many options and variations. If car-topping does not appeal, a purpose-built road trailer with a launching trolley that piggy backs on the trailer will provide extra storage for camping or weekend-away road trips,” the JB Boat Company said.
