NEW PRODUCTS: LOWRANCE LINK-5 VHF RADIO

Lowrance says it has recently introduced its new Link-5, a fixed-mount 25W Digital Selective Calling (DSC) VHF radio, which is class-D compliant for global use. The radio’s microphone is home to a built-in speaker and six keys for simpler helm operation, while the radio itself features an intuitive rotary knob interface for easy channel changing, menu navigation and setting control.

The radio’s display is a highlight, with the latitude / longitude data is presented on a 1x1.8in (2.6x4.6cm) LCD screen with adjustable backlighting and an extra-large Channel 16 key, as well as dedicated volume and squelch knobs, weather keys, selectable Dual and TriWatch modes, local and distant functions, and three user-selectable channels.

For peace of mind when out on the water, the Link-5 has a rough-and-tumble waterproof chassis and is able to log up to 10 distress calls and 20 individual DSC calls. You and the radio will be safe.

Additional system features include a rotary volume control with power on / off, all-channel priority and memory channel scans, 20 user-programmable names with MMSI, and a second receiver for Channel 70. You can’t ask for much more than that, but the Link-5 also comes with a two-year limited warranty and is backed by the five-year Advantage Service Program.
