Raymarine unveil new e7 display

Electronics manufacturer Raymarine launched its innovative new e7 multifunction display (MFD) at the Sydney International Boat Show in July.

Focusing on fast and easy access to information, the e7 uses WiFi and Bluetooth technology to stream content in real time to iPad (1&2) and iPhone (4 and above), meaning information can be accessed simultaneously by multiple passengers from anywhere onboard. It comes with an optional remote control unit to further enhance access to the device.

The e7 has a massive 7in (17.78cm) display screen with 3D graphics, bright backlit LCD display and a special Sport Optic coating to avoid the “blackout” effect often experienced when viewing screens at an angle while wearing polarised sunglasses. Users can flick between touchscreen or keypad controls according to their personal preference or the conditions onboard.

The e7D is an adaptation of the e7 designed for fishermen, and incorporates built-in HD digital sonar to detect fish and bottom contours and structure. Both the e7 and the e7D also have a 48 channel internal GPS.
