NEW ELECTRONICS — Lowrance SonicHub

New Electronics - Lowrance SonicHub

Lowrance recently released the SonicHub, a recreational boating audio hub and docking station for use with iPods and a variety of USB MP3 players.

Lowrance says the SonicHub is the world’s first marine audio server to harness high-definition viewing technology in a multi-function display, with the Lowrance High Definition System (HDS) allowing users to access the SonicHub’s features on a single display screen.

The 50A screen is available in 12.7cm, 16.3cm, 21.3cm and 26.4cm sizes which are said to be easily viewed even in direct sunlight. The docking station is waterproof to protect media players from the harsh marine environment. The SonicHub unit also features an AM/FM radio and easy-to-navigate menu systems and icons. 200W speakers are provided, while an optional subwoofer is also available.

In other Lowrance news, the latest Version 3.0 software for the Lowrance HDS system is now available, and can be downloaded for free from the Lowrance website. Version 3.0 raises the performance of Lowrance’s broadband radar, offering faster sweeps and updates. The software also offers digital-switching integration on boats equipped with DSS omni-BUS systems, so users can monitor their livewell, baitwell, tank and bilgepump status on the HDS display.
