NEW PRODUCTS - THE AQUA CAMPER
The Aqua Camper is a dual-purpose boat that was introduced in November 2009 by West Gosford-based Excel Marine, a company with considerable experience making commercial boats.
In the words of the manufacturer: “The dual purpose design of the Aqua Camper allows you to camp either on the water or at a camp site or caravan park.”
The boat is designed for calm waters, and is intended for families, anglers and travellers who might wish to camp overnight after exploring bays and secluded creeks. It is said to provide a stable platform with basic flotation for overnight stays, and it converts into a day time cruiser.
All materials used in construction are marine grade including covers and clears, and the trailer is steel hot-dipped galvanized with override brakes. Each boat is available as either a complete "ready to go" package or as a readily customisable boat. Power currently comes from either a 5hp Tohatsu or 15hp Suzuki, and weight (boat, motor and trailer) is around 800kg. The Aqua Camper is available in two metallic colours.
