Raymarine launches E Series Widescreen with HybridTouch

RAYMARINE LAUNCHES E SERIES WIDESCREEN WITH HYBRID TOUCH

Raymarine’s E Series Widescreen with HybridTouch technology has been officially launched into the Australian market.

Raymarine said this latest technology was its most flexible and technically advanced to date, with an easy-to-use multi-function navigation display, offering both touch-screen and hard-button control.

Touch-screen operation is quick and easy, said Raymarine, but it can be challenging to use in rough weather or when moving at speed. With the introduction of HybridTouch, Raymarine now offers a choice of options, giving users the flexibility of touch screen control alongside the use of the UniControl™ which integrates the cursor and OK key in one rotary wheel, plus the traditional hard buttons.

A new user-interface means users can personalise their home screen, while a built-in tutorial guides users through the many new functions and features.

The new E Series Widescreen comes in three sizes — the E90W, E120W and E140W. The touch screen features allow for fast chart-panning, while chart and navigation data can be instantly accessed by simply tapping the screen. A full “qwerty” on-screen keyboard is used to edit and name routes and waypoints.

The E Series Widescreen comes with Navionics ready-to-navigate cartography, and is compatible with Navionics charts including Gold, Platinum, and Platinum Plus with TurboView.

NEW FEATURES AND FUNCTIONS

The Raymarine E Series Widescreen is also packed with new features and functions, like a new anti-collision alarm. New Raymarine Radar features that are configurable by E Series Widescreen include 48rpm high speed scanning, as well as “Bird mode” — a function that helps fishermen track fish shoals by monitoring seabird movement.

The E Series Widescreen also has a sunlight viewable colour display that uses optically bonded LCD display technology to improve the contrast. Raymarine said its fully customisable screens allow users to quickly see everything from fish to hidden hazards below through to engine data and fuel levels.

The Raymarine E Series Widescreen can also use its SeaTalk hs connection to integrate with other onboard SeaTalk hs hardware, including the new HD Digital radome, and Digital Sounder Modules for the fishfinder. Up to five E Series Widescreens can be networked together via SeaTalk hs.

The E Series Widescreen retails from $5269 (including GST). For more information, please contact Raymarine Asia on (02) 9479 4800. You can also visit www.raymarine.com.au or www.HybridTouch.com.
