IC-M35 Floating Receiver
The IC-M35 is the successor to the world’s first floating radio, the IC-M33. It incorporates the same features, including a large backlit LCD display, 5W output and waterproofing to IPX7 standards. Other new features include the “Clear Voice” function that reacts to background noise, “Voice Boost” for instant maximum audio, and a noise cancelling microphone for better audio quality.
Some of the unit’s features include: dual channel simultaneous receive and dual mode data output capability; a built-in antenna splitter; as well as GPS input for data multiplexing. And of course it still floats.
Good news too for anyone wishing to transform the MXA-5000 AIS into a full featured receiver. All you need is your existing Icom VHF marine radio, a compatible GPS chartplotter, or a GPS PC and software.
