NEW PRODUCTS - Raymarine displays expand with new C-Series widescreen

Raymarine Asia introduced its new line of C-Series Widescreen Multifunction Displays (MFD) to the Australian market at the recent Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.

The new MFDs expand the power of multifunction navigation with larger, higher resolution displays, increased performance, expanded networking and video integration, said Raymarine.

Widescreen technology offers more viewing area and larger split window configurations, which the manufacturer said enables boaters to view more navigation data, increasing situational awareness while navigating the open waters.

The C-Series Widescreen range of sunlight viewable colour displays is available in three sizes: the 9in C90W, the 12in C120W and the 14in C140W. Raymarine said the new display units are perfect for centre consoles, cruisers and sailing yachts.

“The theatre-like widescreen display enables operators to view more navigation data, such as charting, radar, fishfinder and video, simultaneously on a single display without compromising usability. In addition, the highly customisable C-Series Widescreen user interface lets you split the screen in multiple window combinations,” said Raymarine.

Among the C-Series Widescreen features are a highly sensitive GPS sensor built into the display housing and pre-loaded Navionics Silver grade charts.

Raymarine said boaters can expand the capabilities of the C-Series Widescreen with SeaTalk network sensors for HD digital radar and fishfinders.

The SeaTalk networking protocol is said to allow boaters to connect a second C-Series Widescreen display either at the same location on the helm or as a full-function remote station, while an AIS receiver can also be integrated for added safety in busy waterways as well as a unique Buddy Tracking feature which keeps tabs on friendly AIS targets.

C-Series Widescreen also includes a video input to integrate entertainment sources, such as satellite TV or a marine camera to keep tabs on crew and assist with blind spots while docking.

Raymarine said the optically bonded LCD display technology produces beautiful colour, contrast and a wide viewing angle with resolutions of up to 1280 x 800 pixels, producing high-definition navigation views.

According to the manufacturer, a powerful graphics coprocessor delivers 3D chart graphics, using optional Navionics Platinum charts and video, while Raymarine’s HD Digital signal processing technology, utilised in both radar and fishfinder sensors, delivers performance and fully automatic operation.

“Boaters can choose from a broad range of high-performance radar antenna options with advanced features like radar/chart overlay, MARPA target tracking and dual-range radar, as well as Raymarine Digital Radomes or high performance HD and Super HD Digital open array antennas,” said Raymarine.
