R MARINE SYDNEY DEALER PROFILE
Located in the centre of Australia’s premier harbour, R Marine Sydney has capitalised further on this location by moving into the new Sydney Superyacht Marina office complex at Rozelle Bay. This historic waterfront is now part of a major government redevelopment under the Urban Growth strategy, which means the dealership is in a prime location beside new services and amenities. The dealership is only a short dinghy ride from the fish market – one of Australia’s most popular tourist destinations, which is set to become even busier with the redevelopment in progress. R Marine Sydney is well set to build on its long reputation for integrity and honesty, dealer principal Michael Joyce told Trade-a-Boat.
The company is benefiting from the modernisation of Riviera’s extensive range, which includes the launch of the new flagship 72 Sports Motor Yacht and the versatile 395 SUV at the Sydney International Boat Show this past August. Another new model that particularly suits the Sydney lifestyle is the 4800 Sport Yacht, says Michael Joyce: “It exemplifies the perfect boat for Sydney Harbour.” Features of the 4800 include the single level saloon and cockpit with covered barbecue area, ideal for summer entertaining.
The Sydney dealership has a proven track record of more than 30 years, which has enabled it to become Australia’s number one and longest-serving Riviera dealers, winning numerous annual awards during this time, which is a reflection of its strength and professionalism, according to Joyce. The busy dealership also sells Riviera’s other brand Belize Motoryachts, as well as running its own brokerage. The sales department is headed up by Simon Don and Pete Devery, who also sell brokerage brands such as Sunseeker, Maritimo and Princess.
The 17-strong team is primarily made up of technical staff plus customer sales and management. The latter includes a comprehensive management service to post-sales clients.
SERVICE EXPERTISE
Service Manager Craig Harwood is in charge of a 12-strong technical team that includes shipwrights, mechanics and electricians. They look after the handover of new Riviera’s, the Belize brand and brokerage boats. “We are a one-stop shop, so it makes it easy for owners when doing upgrades or any changes,” said the former professional big boat skipper and time served engineer. R Marine’s facilities include slipways and cranes, allowing structural work such as fitting tunnel bow thrusters to older boats. “Upgrading the electronics on our brokerage boats is another common job,” said Craig. Maintaining the value of your asset is an important part of the owner’s remit, he advises, “So it’s essential that a full annual service is done that covers all engine service points.”
