The 6 best luxury boats from 2014 reviewed by Trade-a-Boat

One of our favourite ways to pass the time here at Trade-a-Boat is to play “What Boat Would You Own?”

We imagine ourselves as wealthy philanthropists, faced with the agonizing choice of having access to all the best luxury boats that we review every year and then having to decide which one to buy.

Thankfully, after spending time on these boats throughout the year, we can pepper the discussion with “informed” opinions. Below are the boats that really struck a chord with our reviewers, be it for innovation, inspired design, offshore performance or that elusive X-factor.

Some, like the Elandra 53, are new to the Australian boat market while others like the Maritimo S43 hark back to a long line of marine engineering. The one thing they have in common is that that they’re all awesome.

Here are six spectacular luxury boats that Trade-a-Boat reviewed in 2014.

Maritimo S43  |  With the S43, Maritimo expanded its sedan range to include a mid-level luxury cruiser. Fantastic for a day out on the water, it’s also a great entertainer’s boat and is ideal for weekend getaways. Top speed is 32kts and she can happily cruise at 20 to 25kts.

Elandra 53  |  Buyers looking for a family-sized sedan motoryacht must consider the locally-made Elandra 52. She’s clever, modern and elegant, and makes brilliant use of technology, from the CZone system that controls all electrical systems at the touch of a button to state-of-the-art Simrad navigation.
