The Le Grand Bleu, owned by Eugene Schvidler after it was given to him as a gift by his business partner and friend Roman Abramovich, was built at a cost of around $90 million. This expensive yacht is 370 ft in length and was launched in 2000 with an on-board 67-foot speedboat and 74-foot sailboat. The 416ft Tatoosh, built at an expense of $100 million, is currently owned by Paul Allen, the co-founder of Microsoft, and was put up for sale in 2010.

Rivalling the Le Grand Bleu and Tatoosh in expense is the 289 ft $120 million yacht Maltese Falcon. This magnificent yacht is the largest sailing yacht in the world, housing a saloon, five staterooms, and a submarine, and is owned by Elena Ambrosiadou, the co-founder of hedge fund IKOS Asset Management. Built at a cost of$130 million, the 375 ft Pelorus is owned by Russian billionaire and Chelsea Football Club owner Roman Abramovich, with little expense spared in crafting this magnificently presented yacht.

Barry Dillon, American media mogul, and fashion designer Dianevon Furstenberg, own the 271 ft yacht named Eos, which was constructed at a cost of $150 m, which is slightly less than the413 ft Octopus, crafted for Paul Allen at an expense of $200million and featuring two submarines, one of which has been designed to explore the ocean floor.

The 457 ft Al Salamah and 453 ft Rising Sun are yachts that are both worth in the region of $200 million, with the Al Salamah, owned by Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, the Saudi Arabian Defense Ministerf eaturing an indoor pool with a glass roof to add to its expense. The Rising Sun has a movie theatre, basketball court, wine cellar, and 82 luxurious rooms.

Arguably the most private expensive yacht in the world, the 508m Al Said is estimated to be worth between $200-300 million and is owned by Sultan Qoobas bin Said al Said, Sultan of Oman. Little is known about this super-yacht, which was code-named Project Sunflower during its construction in 2007. At 350 million the 525ft Dubai is owned by Shiek Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of Dubai and Prime Minister of the UAE. This expensive yacht was built to exacting standards and features a landing pad for a Blackhawkhelicopter and a glass spiral staircase.

Owned by Roman Abramovich, the Eclipse is one of the most expensive yachts in the world at around $800 million. At 533 ft, the Eclipse has an anti-missile defence system, and little expense was spared during its design and construction to produce a yacht that is the ultimate in luxury and comfort.
