Arvor 855 Weekender | New Boats
The 9m, new Arvor 855 Weekender is more spacious than the inboard-powered Arvor Diesel 700 sister, is available with three engine setups: in single or twin outboard motor configuration, or as a marine diesel shaftdrive configuration. Also new is an enclosed forward cabin with island berth, and a second cabin under the saloon with twin singles which with an infill convert to a double bed.
The Arvor 700 Weekender debuted in 2011 after Arvor boats said it answered the call from customers for a more family-friendly overnight cruiser instead of its other fishing oriented models. Now the Arvor 855 plans to take owners farther afield and on longer jaunts away with a 400lt fuel capacity, a substantial jump over the standard 135lt of the Arvor 700. In fact, the Arvor 855 is now a true inshore-offshore explorer with a CE Design Category B to cope with Wind Force 8 gales and significant wave heights to 4m.
The enclosed wheelhouse design, based on doughty North Sea fishing boats, is an Arvor trademark and the new 855 remains true to the heritage, apart from the sweptback windscreen for a more streamlined profile. The boat is a walkaround design, although with an asymmetrical wheelhouse the starboard sidedeck is the preferred way forward and upon which the skipper’s sliding door opens.
There’s a long list of standard inclusions on the Arvor 855 Weekender, like four-way dinette, foredeck sunlounge, cabin and cockpit lighting, shorepower, water heater, fridge and microwave, head with shower and seawater loo with holding tank, as well as cockpit table and L-shaped seating/sunlounge, deck shower, sun awning, plus bowthruster, trim tabs, rodholders and two windscreen wipers, among others.
Arvor Australia says it has additional optional boat equipment and packs available for the Arvor 855 Weekender to tailor owners’ individual needs, and the new boat will be presented for the first time at the 2015 Sydney International Boat Show.
“This boat is exemplary of beautiful design, (and) class-leading use of functional space,” said Arvor Australia’s Peter Collins. “The reconfigurable modules will make the consumer feel at home on any type of journey.”
