Hyundai SeasAll has announced the addition of the highest horsepower SeasAll unit in the brand’s high-speed product range, the SeasAll Compact S270.
The new 270hp Hyundai marine S270 SeasAll diesel engine is based on the popular Hyundai SeasAll S250. It shares the same 3.0lt common-rail V6, but is said to incorporate design improvements that allow it to produce more power.
According to Hyundai, the new SeasAll S270 produces 565nm of torque, 26nm more than the Hyundai S250. Changes to the intake manifold mean the S270 is just 535.4mm in height, 69.6mm lower than the SeasAll S250.
“The new S270 is a great addition to our model line-up. Being more compact, it will be a great engine option to consider for repowers of older vessels and for designers to consider in new builds,” says Allpower Marine business development manager Mark Harrison.
“The ECU injection map of the S270 is all new and has been designed to deliver a flat torque curve giving both superior acceleration as well as power at the top end,” he said.
The engine is fully compatible with the Hyundai SeasLink Smartphone application, which allows users to look at engine diagnostic information and export it straight to a service centre as well as recording trip reports, displaying engine info and recording vessel tracks on a navigation map.
CONFIGURATIONS
The Hyundai SeasAll S270 will be available in sterndrive, shaft-drive and water jet configurations. Linkages that will allow Hyundai SeasAll engines to be coupled with ZF gearboxes and adaptor kits for Volvo Penta and MerCruiser sternlegs are also available.
