SAILORS WITH DISABILITIES

Sailors With Disabilities (SWD) has to date taken over 40,000 people with disability or at disadvantage sailing over the past 20 years. According to the organisers, sailing can give an individual a more optimistic outlook on life and nurture personal growth.

The campaign is supported by round-the-world sailor, Jessica Watson OAM.

“l love the fact that everyone can enjoy sailing on an equal playing field, whether they’re male or female, young or old, able bodied or not,” she said.

“I am always inspired to see Sailors with disAbilities on the harbour participating in the joys of sailing.”

Raffle tickets cost $100. One ticket gives two children with disability a day out on a yacht. As mentioned, you need to be quick. There are just 5000 tickets on sale and the event closes this Sunday, August 31, 2014.
