The Bavaria Easy 9.7 is the first of the German marque's new line of entry-level sailboats.

BAVARIA EASY 9.7

Bavaria has earned a solid reputation for building reliable and tough offshore cruising yachts, but if the price has always been out of your reach, now the big German sailboat maker has come down the line announcing a new daysailer range.

The first of this 10m class of yacht is the Easy 9.7, introduced to the public for the first time at the Dusseldorf Boat Show in January and expected to be available later in the year.

Bavaria said the new Easy yachts are aimed at a new group of buyers and as such is quoting a base price of Euros 49,950 (excluding tax) for its immediate Northern Hemisphere markets.

“Sailing can be very simple and this is how it is supposed to be,” said the builder’s PR sheet. “With the new Bavaria Easy 9.7 sailors can completely focus on the sailing fun.”

According to the company, the almost 33ft Easy 9.7 has a simple handling and functional design above and below decks, a priority during the development.

Bavaria extended its product range with the Easy 9.7 targeting the next generation of consumers, particularly those who are new to boating. This is a growing but also demanding group of buyers, the company noted.

“Beside careers, family and socialising, only little time remains for sailing, so this is why the target group can perfectly use the Bavaria Easy 9.7. Simply put your sailing bag onboard and start sailing,” Bavaria says.

Designed as a daysailer, weekender or fun cruiser, the Easy 9.7 features an open stern, spacious cockpit and a tidy deck layout. This is said to make handling simple, precise and efficient for single or double-handed crews, such as the helmsman being within easy reach of the headsail winches.

Below decks and Bavaria regards the interior as feeling “like a 37-foot yacht” catering for weekending or longer trips away. Standard are bunks in the stern and bow, saloon coffee table, small galley and an easy-care bathroom unit.

Bavaria includes an optional Easy Living package, the additional equipment comprising cockpit table, transom shower, fridge, holding tank, 240V shorepower connection and hot shower in the bathroom.
