GRADY-WHITE 376 CANYON
Australia’s Grady-White dealer, Gold Coast-based Game & Leisure Boats (GLB), has welcomed the very first Grady-White Canyon 376 into the country, the biggest of the brand’s centre consoles.
Representing value for fishermen and families alike, GLB says the flagship of the Canyon series offers fishing functionality but also a big-beamed, roomy and lockable console interior with the features, amenities and comforts expected in a cabin-style, family-oriented boat.
“Here’s a centre console that offers all the comfort of a family-fun cabin boat without sacrificing one iota of fishing function. No production boatbuilder in the world builds a bigger, better-quality centre console boat of this size,” said GLB’s Chris Jones.
The big Grady-White is built on the rough-water-taming SeaV2 hull topped with an aerodynamic aluminium hardtop, glassed-in three sides and painted with heavy-duty Imron.
The three-person helm seating has the skipper on the centreline leaving crew to come and go either side. Ahead is a tinted safety glass windscreen with wiper, stainless steel wheel, pop-up big-screen electronics panel and easily-reached controls.
The console’s interior not only features a stand-up shower area, including a “hidden” head with VacuFlush toilet, but also a galley with Corian tops and stainless steel sink plus a fridge and optional microwave. There’s a two-person berth and storage along the side, as well as a skylight and portside window.
A mirror can hide an optional TV and DVD player, entertainment also including a Kenwood sound system, while the radio system can be optionally ordered satellite-ready for Sirius.
The helm seat base module contains an aft livewell, while a second livewell is optional. This area also has a rigging station with washdown, cooler, tackle drawers, rodholders and bulk storage.
With the transom bench seat stowed, the Canyon 376 boasts a cockpit area of 7.9m2 and internal freeboard of 0.71m. Six gunwale rodholders complement the six-pot rocket launcher on the helm seat lean bar, and extra features include freshwater outlets, cutting board, aft fishbox, raw-water washdown and lockable transom door.
The one-level walk-around deck leads to a bow area where two fishboxes in the peak double as seating or a sunbed with cushions added. Opposite is a three-seat lounge moulded into the front of the console and with the optional table fitted, converts the bow from fishing into an alfresco dining area.
Powering the big Grady-White are twin 350hp Yamaha V8 outboards for an optimum cruise of 26kts at 4200rpm and a max speed of 40kts at 6000rpm.
GLB is offering the new Grady-White Canyon 376 at a special introductory price of $499,000. The boat is available for inspection, phone (07) 5577 5811 or visit gandlb.com.au
